Entrepreneurialism the heart guardian

Ecommerce can sometimes feel a bit like a rather gaudy carnival – lots of bright colors, blinking lights and endless rows of carnival barkers calling to you to come to their booth and try your luck. The endless list of available products is mind numbing. It can be rather daunting to come to terms with jumping into the fray of online business when it seems you will likely be just another carnival barker calling, “Step right up!”

I can understand your fears, but I also know that a good entrepreneur is more closely aligned with an actor than a traditional business owner.

An actor?

First of all, here’s what I do not mean by my previous comment. I do not mean that entrepreneurs are like actors in that they are not genuine and are simply playing a part.

Secondly, this is what I do mean by that comment. I do mean that entrepreneurs are like actors in that they both understand that their role is to sell an idea. A good actor can sell you on the idea that they ARE the character they play. A good entrepreneur takes their enthusiasm for a product, converts their enthusiasm to trust and then uses that trust to sell an idea.

The idea is not necessarily the product. The idea needs to be sold before the product becomes a viable consideration. Sometimes that means marketing to a need that may not be outwardly expressed. In essence an entrepreneur can help create a market for their product through the sheer force of their enthusiasm and determination. This dynamic duo translates to a trusting consumer base.

Your actions online are more than the cyber equivalent of selling deep friend cotton candy pickles on the midway. An entrepreneur helps the customer find something with positive takeaway value even in purchases that may seem frivolous. Help your site visitors discover the grand in the otherwise common. You can be a tour director and lead your site visitors on a trip that brings your prospect to a place of trust in YOU and your idea.

Too many people want to sell a product when they may be better off working to sell personal trust in a new idea. Instead of hawking wares they should be promoting the wonder of a new concept or idea.

I think there is a difference between an entrepreneur and a marketing expert. A marketing expert knows the tools required to sell a product while an entrepreneur possesses the passion needed to change the world in their own little way. Both are important in ecommerce, but the entrepreneur has something some marketing experts do not. They have been burdened with an idea for which passion is a prerequisite. Entrepreneurialism for these individuals is not a job it is a calling – it is more than 9-5 with paid vacation. Entrepreneurialism is something altogether unique.

A marketing expert understands the mechanics of selling – an entrepreneur guards the heart. Both are necessary, but only one can make the process undeniably human.

Building relationships in business - why it s so important

One of the most important things that you can have as a business owner are good relationships. Good relationships can be very instrumental in the success of a business. There are several different types of relationships that a business owner should be trying to obtain. This article will take a look at three of them that I feel are a must have! These three are: relationships with your existing customers , relationships with potential customers and lastly relationships with other people in your field.

Below, each of these types are looked at a little closer so you can get a better understanding of how important each one is and can be.

Relationships With Regular Customers - It doesn’t matter if your regular customers are individual people or a business; developing a relationship with them could be the difference between keeping that customer and losing that customer to a competitor offering the same type of products or services that you do. Let them know that you really do appreciate them as a customer on a regular basis. You don’t always have to try to sell them something either, every once in a while send them a postcard or email thanking them for choosing you to do business with on a consistent basis. It might not seem like much;but your customers will appreciate the jester, increasing the chances of them staying one of your loyal customers. Let these individuals be the first ones to hear of your upcoming sale or new product or service that you will be offering soon. Reward them with special discount prices and deals just for them being one of your regulars, it’ll be a well spent investment.

Relationships With Potential Customers - Sometimes it’s hard to pay any attention to someone or something that isn’t really doing anything for you at the moment. The truth is, this is where many businesses make a huge mistake. Remember this, potential customers represent the future of your business. Never be content with your current amount of customers, always look to gain more! Keeping that in mind, you should make it a routine to keep in touch with prospects that may have signed up for one of your newsletters; or maybe they responded to an ad that you ran in the paper before, but haven’t purchased anything from you yet. Without being a pest remind them that your services are still available. Offer them some type of sample or free trial to demonstrate the quality of your products and or services. If done correctly, you can easily convert a lot of "maybe buyers" into "yes buyers ". Now these customers will soon find themselves in your "regulars" category .

Relationships With Others In Your Field - This is with out a doubt one of the best relationships to have. Simply put, these types of business relationships have so many advantages both short term and long term. By interacting with others in your field, it gives you an opportunity to learn new things, teach new things and even open up new doors for your business. Having these relationships with others in your field can possibly lead to collaborations in the future, greatly benefiting all involved.

Building business relationships, especially good ones, takes time to do. Once developing a relationship with a customer or colleague, put the same amount of time and effort into maintaining the relationship as you did to obtain it.

Teleseminar how-to guide the t-profit system. a review

Teleseminars seem to be all the rage these days, and for good reason. They're a great way to build lists and make money, both for the organizers and their guests. They're also really great for creating a connection between audience and expert, a connection that has two-way benefits.

If you've been wondering how you could possibly get in on the action, wonder no more: Filmmaker Andy Duncan (of "I Need Cash Now" fame) and his business partner Steve Roye have put together the T-Profit System, the ultimate step-by-step how-to guide for putting together a teleseminar series that delivers the goods, for the audience, your JV-partners, and yourself.

You may have thought you could never do that. You may not think of yourself as an expert. You don't think you're very witty. Heck, you may be shy! But Andy and Steve will quickly reassure you that neither exceptional wit nor fame or even expertise is required. Even better, teleseminar are among the easiest and most inexpensive products to produce. What's not to like?

The T-Profit system consists of a total of eight MP3s, along with PDF transcripts, plus live Q&A sessions.

First, there are the four instructional MP3s, in which Andy and Steve present the basic formula. They give some background and how they themselves got started. They talk about the reason why teleseminars work as well as they do. And then they launch into the details of exactly how you can go about putting together your own.

BTW, "instructional" may not be quite the right word for those MP3s. Yes, you'll learn a ton - as promised. But they are so much fun you sure won't feel like you're studying terribly hard.

Just in case you're still intimidated, they provide you with three examples of teleseminars with experts who themselves were new to the teleseminar genre. For two of them, that very teleseminar you'll be hearing was their very first. And yet, they sound like old pros!

As mentioned above, the MP3s also come with transcripts, and many of them have outlines as well. A bonus seminar, produced as a bonus for one of the example seminars, is included as well. It's a terrific introduction to affiliate marketing by Erik Stafford, also known as the Faster Webmaster.

Here's yet another thing that makes T-Profit System special: included in the price are three bonus coaching calls in monthly intervals (actually, there was a fourth one that took place right after the system was launched, for all the early bird sign-ups), where Steve and Andy will answer any questions that come up.

And I really mean ANY questions. Andy and Steve are incredibly gracious and helpful. I've asked a few really basic questions, and Steve walked me patiently through all of my challenges. He did the same for other callers. They didn't even laugh!

I bought T-Profit System the minute it came out. Why? I loved Andy's "I Need Cash Now" program, and also did Andy and Steve's 4 week coaching program. I got so much out of the two programs, I felt the T-Profit system was a complete no-brainer.

And that even though I believed that I already knew enough about teleseminars from the coaching program (and I did know a lot!), this program actually delivered even more details and step-by-step guidelines, thereby greatly reducing the intimidation factor, and greatly increasing the potential for success. I also find that I learn best when I get the same info presented several different ways.

Considering that I was a total web newbie about 6 months ago, I keep finding myself absolutely astonished by how far I've come. I have multiple websites, blogs, I've already come up with a concept for a series of teleseminars, and I have even done (and uploaded!) my first interview. Look for more on all that in the near future. For right now though, you may want to check out the T-Profit System, so you'll get in on the live coaching calls while they last.

The secrets about search engine optimization you need to know

Nowadays, the Internet practically equates to Search Engine Optimization. It’s the way of the Web world. Make sure you know SEO to succeed online!

Search Engine Optimization or SEO is now the leading website promotion tool nowadays. Due to its many benefits, mastering the art of Search Engine Optimization is a challenge that many determined web players gladly take on. And it’s a worthy feat, mind you, because knowing the ins and outs of SEO can take you a lot farther in the Web world than any other web promotion tool.

The term “Search Engine Optimization” is now almost spoken with reverence among web players. Those who are masters in this art are also respected by aspiring web players. Not to mention that they are probably also masters of their manors and mansions. Although a bit exaggerated, the difference between a mansion and an ordinary house best symbolizes the difference between the amount of income you will earn when you apply Search Engine Optimization for your site and when you don’t. Yes, Search Engine Optimization is that powerful. It’s obvious, right? Practically anyone who needs information log on to the Internet to find it, and almost every single one of these information-seekers goes straight to search engines. There is probably no need to question that.

The main objective in Search Engine Optimization is to increase a website’s page ranking with the search engines. The higher your site’s page rank is, the closer to the top of the Search Engine Results Pages or SERPs you are. The closer to the top you are, the more chances you have of getting visited by searchers.

There are a lot of ways improve your ranking with the search engines using Search Engine Optimization strategies, and the top two ways that matter are these: keywords and links. First, your website should contain keywords and key phrases that are relevant to your site and most likely very searchable by your target audience. It’s not just about bombarding your site with keywords or key phrases that come to mind. You have to use relevant keywords that searchers will most likely use when they need to find information. Think of yourself as someone who is looking for information. What are the keywords would you use? Use your own ideas to come up with targeted keywords that will certainly up your chances of getting to the top of the SERPs. Due to the importance of keywords for websites, there are now some online companies that offer keyword analysis services for websites.

Aside from keywords, links are also important to search engines. Search engines prefer to show sites that have a lot of links in it. But, don’t go placing as many links as you can on your site. Make sure they are relevant links. Relevant links are links that lead your viewers to websites that complement yours. Also, you should have links to your site displayed in other websites that, again, complement yours. It is also better to use one-way links, since search engines also prefer to show sites with such links. This shows that it is not only the quantity of the links that count. The quality of the links you place also matter in Search Engine Optimization. This is why the concept of Search Engine Optimization branches out further into link-building strategies and the like.

If you are a web player, surely you are aware that without Search Engine Optimization, it will be hard for a site to succeed online. The Internet houses a limitless horde of websites, and the need to grow, succeed, and be established is even greater. There is no need to doubt that your website needs strong Search Engine Optimization strategies, so don’t wait any longer. Start making more money through your website by applying SEO strategies.

3 ways you can generate cash using google adsense

In many webmaster forums, you are likely to come across this question: "How can I make money with Google Adsense?" Google Adsense is arguably the most popular pay-per-click advertising program today. Many webmasters are earning considerable money by displaying Google Adsense on their sites.

Yes, it is very possible to make money with Google Adsense. There are several effective and proven ways you can do this. The best part is that they are not complicated ways; they are in fact very simple and easy to implement. Of course, exactly how much you make from Google Adsense largely depends on how much effort you put into your sites. Don't fall into believing that you can make money from Google Adsense overnight. Like other types of work, you need to spend time as well as have the commitment and perseverance.

With all that said, you will learn three effective ways you can generate cash with Google Adsense -- through niche sites, forums and blogs.

Niche Sites: Targeted Market Equals Targeted and Higher Adsense Clicks

The word "niche" is today's buzz word. A niche is a specific market you want to focus on. If you are in the antique business, exactly what kind of antique do you deal with? Are you in the antique furniture business? antique dolls? antique cars? That's your niche.

Niche websites are sites that are focused on very specific markets or audience. Instead of a broad category, you narrow down into a target market or audience. For instance, a guitar website can be further made specific and focus on Fender Stratocaster guitars. People who are into Fender Stratocaster guitars are your target audience. Google Adsense ads that appear on this particular niche website appeal to your target audience and visitors. By being specific, you can generate higher clicks to your Google Adsense, which translate to higher Google Adsense earnings.

If you want to maximize your Google Adsense earnings, put up several niche websites instead of one website devoted to a broad category or topic. Instead of putting up a website about cars, put up several small websites focused on car repairs, care restoration, antique cars and such. By narrowing down your website's focus, you can attract targeted visitors who are likely to click on your Google Adsense ads.

Forums: Placing Google Adsense Ads that Stand Out

Do you run a highly active forum or online discussion board? If your forum receives a lot of traffic and has many members who regularly participate in online discussions, you can monetize your forum pages by inserting Google Adsense in them. While forum users are known to be "ad blind", you can insert Google Adsense codes smartly.

For instance, you can make your Google Adsense ads stand out by using very bright colors. On niche sites, it is recommended that your Google Adsense ads blend in with the site. In online forums, however, you can make money with Google Adsense by making the ads stand out. You can also make Google Adsense appear after a certain number of posts. Many forum owners have discovered that Google Adsense ads placed at the bottom of the last post on every page generates a lot of clicks.

Blogs: Easy to Monetize with Google Adsense

Today, many are able to establish an online presence and have their voices heard. They do this by creating and maintaining their own blogs. In the last two years alone, literally hundreds of thousands of blogs have cropped up. Blog software like Wordpress and blog networks like Blogger make it easy for anyone, even the least techie, to set up his or her own blog and make money from it. There are bloggers who are reportedly making four-, five - and six-figure yearly income just by placing Google Adsense on their blogs.

Since Blogger is owned by Google, people with blogs on Blogger can easily integrate Google Adsense into their account. Even if you don't have an account with Blogger, you can still make money displaying Google Adsense ads on Wordpress-powered blogs hosted on your server or third-party host. Blog software like Wordpress have Google Adsense plugins. This means you can easily insert Google Adsense ad codes in your blog posts with just a click of a button.

To make the most out of your Google Adsense ads, it is recommended that you place a Google Adsense unit after each of your blog posts. If you are posting a long article, consider placing a Google Adsense unite in the middle of the article. And if you technically inclined (or you aren't afraid of a challenge), you can insert Google Adsense codes into your blog template. Do it this way and your Google Adsense ads will display on all your blog pages.

There you have it -- three ways you can generate cash from Google Adsense. Niche sites, forums and blogs are only three of the many ways you can make money from Google Adsense. If you are new online, start with a blog. Create an account on Blogger. com and test out the waters. As you become comfortable and acquire more technical skills, you can advance to creating niche sites and starting your own online forums and monetizing with Google Adsense.

Seo - should you use blog blasting software

An examination of blog blasting software and whether or not using this type of program to send out tons of blog headlines to different sites is part of a good SEO strategy.

You can use a blog as blog advertising. Blog advertising is a cross between blog and an ad. You are probably familiar with the concept of an Ad Blaster, which blasts out an ad to thousands of search engines and FFA sites. Blog Blaster works much the same way, virally transmitting and linking your blog to thousands of other sites who will also want to link back to you.

It is no secret that blogging has become a powerful form of self-expression as well as promotion. Usually defined as a frequently published, chronological publication of personal thoughts, web links and information, the blog is the Internet expert or guru's best friend. It is a persuasive literary form that can be used to expose the flaws of your competition, raise enthusiasm for your topic and help establish your credibility and reputation as a seller or provider. Automated published systems simplify and accelerate the publishing process.

Using these programs is very easy and it only takes a few minutes. You simply insert your blog into pre-designed template and choose your blog advertising category. You press a button and your blog advertising is then posted to thousands of blogs that will be glad to have your link on their site because you message is relevant to their subject areas. This of course can boost your rankings.

Currently there are millions of blogs on the net. Blasting systems like Blog Blaster automatically places your blog advertising on millions of blogs that pertain to your topic. This is a way to exponentially increase your site traffic as well as sales. In many instances people who have used this type of article header distribution software have increased their targeted traffic so much that they have ended up with in one of the top three rankings on the Google search engine.

Unfortunately, Blog Blasting, also known as blog spamming can get your site blacklisted and is therefore a high risk form of SEO.

Having a merchant account is no longer an option

Setting up a merchant account makes it easy and affordable for your business to accept credit cards.

• Setting up merchant account services offers you:

• Improved customer satisfaction

• Larger customer base with more payment options

• Increased credibility for your business

With a merchant account you can offer your customers several payment options:

• Point of sale processing—Using physical terminals to process your sales

• Virtual terminal processing—To process telephone, fax, or Internet sales made at a web site

• Software—to make sales using your computer to process orders

Your company cannot afford to ignore the need to accept credit cards. Setting up a merchant account solves this problem. Any good merchant account representative can give you the information you need on how you can either add credit card acceptance to, or improve credit card processing for, your business.

Even if your company is considered high risk, (adult sales, gambling sites and other similar high risk business categories) a merchant account can be set up for you! Most US banks will not set up high risk merchant accounts. However, if your credit is good, offshore merchant accounts provide the perfect solution for your business needs.

When a customer says: “I would like to buy your widget. Do you accept credit cards?” A yes answer results in a sale. A no answer results in a no sale. Which answer is best for your business health? Well, that is pretty obvious!

Your merchant account services should offer a comprehensive line of payment solutions for your business—credit card acceptance, debit cards, and check acceptance—for all types of businesses including retail storefronts, restaurants, hotels, service companies, wireless merchants and mail, telephone or Internet order businesses.

Additionally, your merchant account should provide customer service 24/7/365 to provide the following information:

• Transfers of money into your designated checking account, monthly statements, chargeback and retrieval requests, and other issues that face merchant account holders very day

• Provide answers about your point of sale credit card terminal, need to schedules telephone training for you or your employees, need to replace broken equipment, or need additional supplies

Some important definitions:

What is a merchant account?

A merchant account is a special account that allows your business to accept credit cards as payment in person, over the telephone, by mail order, or over the Internet. You must have a merchant account if you want to be able to accept credit cards from your customers.

What is an acquiring bank?

An acquiring bank is the bank that holds your credit card merchant account. It is also the bank that transfers funds from your merchant account into your local bank account.

How do I apply for a merchant account and a payment gateway?

It's easy to establish a merchant account. You can submit an application online, by fax, or by meeting with a sales representative at your business location. Your application will be approved almost immediately, your account will be activated, and, if you're buying or leasing new credit card processing software or terminal equipment, it will arrive in just days.

What credit cards will I be able to accept?

You'll be able to accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express and Diners Club/Carte Blanche. In addition, you'll be able to accept debit cards that carry a Visa or MasterCard logo, purchase cards, and online checks.

What is the discount rate?

The discount rate is one of the processing fees charged to your merchant account. It is a percentage of your gross sales.

What is the "per transaction" fee?

The "per transaction fee" is a nominal charge for processing each transaction through your merchant account service.

What is a charge back?

Charge backs occur when a credit cardholder informs the credit card company that the charge was not authorized, or that goods or services were not delivered as promised.

Total Merchant Services will transfer funds from your merchant account to any checking account you designate on a daily basis.

What type of equipment do I need to accept credit cards?

If you have a retail storefront, restaurant, hotel, or service business you can use either a hard-wired or wireless point-of-sale (POS) credit card terminal or a personal computer equipped with credit card processing software. If you have an Internet business, or a telephone order or mail order business, you can use a virtual terminal. With a virtual terminal, you do not need to load any software onto your computer. Since this is Internet-Based software, you simply need access to the internet. Other options include using credit card processing software. This is software that you load onto your computer. Authorizations are obtained by dialing into the credit card processor with your computer modem. Or, you can hand enter (key in) data into a point of sales (POS) credit card terminal.

Why do I need a separate account for orders I accept over the phone, fax, mail or Internet?

Because you never take physical possession of a credit card so that you can swipe it through a magnetic strip reader, both Visa and MasterCard use different criteria for evaluating risk and have different fee structures for card-not-present transactions.

What is a payment gateway?

A payment gateway links your web site to the credit card processing companies and your merchant account. When your customer enters his or her credit card number on your web site, the payment gateway obtains authorization for the charge and later handles the transfer of funds into your merchant account. Total Merchant Services works with the industry's most widely used and reliable gateways including the Total Pay powered by Authorize. Net, Plug N Pay, and VeriSign Payment Systems.

Paid market research - how to make money from home with paid market research programs

If you are looking for a good way to make money from home, I suggest working doing paid market research. In layman's terms, that means that you can get paid to fill out surveys from the comfort of your living room couch (as long as you have a laptop and a wireless connection).

The way it works is simple, and makes sense if you think about it. Companies are always looking for opinions of their products. If their products can be improved, in many cases they will work to fix them in order to make the most profit possible. This means that any expenses for opinions paid to people like you and me are totally justifiable, because it can help them to make more money in the grand scheme of things.

If you are interested in earning money from home like this, the best way to go about earning money through paid market research is to join a reputable site that will hook you up with a massive list of paid surveys you can fill out. This is the tricky part. Because the industry has been booming lately, a lot of scam sites have popped up to take advantage of people. They do this by getting huge monthly membership fees out of people who join, all in exchange for outdated lists that feature old surveys that you can no longer get paid to fill out.

I have been working as a paid survey professional for awhile now, and I have found that there are just a handful of sites that are trustworthy in this industry. If you're serious about starting your own business in the paid market research industry, then I would recommend that you tread carefully and be sure to do your due diligence prior to investing in any program.

The web2.0 phenomenom powerful internet marketing trend

Let me explain to you what this all means.

Have you noticed that in the last 7 or so months, that most, if not all of your favorite Internet Marketers are enticing you with mass amounts of freebees.

In fact, I also fell into this trap a few months back, loading up on anything and everything because I thought I would use them in my business and give them away to my list. Well that never happened and never will. Why? Because 99.9% of those free products are not needed. Yes, useless programs! Programs you will never ever use and will only clog up your desktop. I have hundreds of them, and I keep stuffing them in folders and tucking them away. (it’s time to get rid of them).

These free products are put up to entice you to buy another product at whatever price, which again will probably not be used. Sound familiar? If you have been in this business for a while, you know what I am talking about. If you are a newbie, you need to listen and read the following very carefully, so you don’t fall into the same trap.

Let me explain what I am talking about.

We are all in this Internet Marketing business for the same reason. To make money and someday retire, sooner, better than later. This is where Web2.0 comes in.

Most Internet Marketers will use anything to get you to buy from them. Which is fine because you and I will have to do the same. I prefer to use products that are going to be useful to my customers. As weeks have gone by, the number of enticing products from Internet Marketers has increased, the prices of the products have come down. You know why? Because we as newbie’s are smarter now than before, the Internet Marketing world has changed. What used to work is no longer working, unless you are a guru with hundreds of thousands of customers.

Now if you want to check things out, just look and study the emails your getting, and how many your getting. They will tell you the story.

Your now probably asking yourself, well why is this happening,

What is Web2.0?

The truth is, most Internet Marketers haven’t converted yet to the Web2.0 structure. That is the reason they are starting to loose sales and customers. I myself, just unsubscribed from 20 different Internet Marketers, and more to come.

Now I’m going to tell you a secret about Web2.0, to get your Internet Marketing Business off on the right foot or get it changed over quickly to Web2.0. If you don’t change to this new format of Web2.0, 99.9% of you will go broke and close down your dream within 2 years.

How can I do that you ask? This is kind of ironic, but I have a free report to give you about the new Web2.0.This by the way is not a product that won’t be used, it’s the beginning to your dream. Together with the help of a good friend of mine, Henry Gold, I am confident we can build that dream of yours. It did mine and it will yours.

I encourage you to go ahead and download the rest of the report at:

thecopywritingsecret. com/article/isnare

In those reports, Henry will talk more in depth about the Web2.0.An example of Web2.0 is Youtube, or Myspace. Not that you willWant to copy them and shouldn’t. He will explain why.

This report is the start to your new life, that will keep going & going,(just like that energizer bunny). The Web2.0 will overcome any future changes in the Internet Marketing Industry future.

There will be a package in that report to carefully look at and think about. It’s called the “Master Mind Package”.

Look at this package, not for me or Henry, but for yourself. It changed my life and I am confident it will change yours.

To Your Continued Success

Market well sell well

Great businesses result not necessarily from a great product but from great marketing. Consider McDonald's. This particular company began with an idea: make decent food fast. The food did not need to be great, but workers needed to prepare it quickly. This whole concept revolutionized the restaurant world. Before the inception of fast food, when a family said they were going out for dinner, they would spend several hours away from home at a restaurant. Now when a family says they are going out for dinner, they may spend 20 minutes at any one of a number of fast food restaurants. McDonald's revolutionized the world of restaurants thanks to good marketing similar to how the internet is now revolutionizing home businesses. The typical home business owner has an incredible business home internet marketing opportunity right in his own office. But the internet is so large, that often the typical worker has no idea where to begin.

Start with books. Several marketing guides exist that will give sound advice for the typical business home internet marketing opportunity. A home businessperson should consider the validity of the author. Make sure he or she has experience in the internet marketing business to boost his or her credibility. Then consider the variety of options that he or she may introduce. Remember that not every idea will work, but often a business owner does not know which ones will work and not work if he or she does not try different options. Business owners should consider which options have worked best for businesses similar to theirs and then market likewise.

Several internet programs exist which will give the home business owner a great business home internet marketing opportunity. These programs will basically take over the marketing aspect of the business, similar to when a business hires a marketing executive as their very own. Internet programs will often give the business owner options, and again, the business owner should investigate businesses similar to his or hers and then market likewise.

Whenever a program or a book requires a financial investment, the business owner should investigate them carefully. Look for endorsements. Check out the better business bureau when considering internet programs or marketing companies online. Read the author's bio of the marketing book and investigate his or her credentials briefly. Also, ask around the business community. What resources do they recommend?

In the end, good or bad marketing will divide the successful and failures of the world. The best business home internet marketing opportunity lies just around the corner. A business owner needs to just dig a little to find it, and once he has, he will know he has found a great opportunity, because his business will take off like it never has before.

Platform trucks

Heavy duty platform trucks and folding hand trucks are made from aluminum, metal and plastic. When you need a rugged and sturdy truck for moving the heaviest possible weights around the warehouse or factory, but do not have access to or the availability of a forklift, platform trucks are the perfect solution. With a large flat bed that can carry the bulkiest items with ease, and a range of different designs available to suit almost any situation, these are one of the most flexible devices in a modern workshop, and provide plenty of freedom and support for staff.

In general, platform trucks have been designed to be pulled rather than pushed, and this protocol should be followed wherever possible. When a fully laden truck is being pulled, it is much easier for the operator to control its speed and stop it if necessary by bracing their weight against the motion of the truck. If the truck is being pushed, it can only be stopped by holding it up using the hands, and when the truck has up to one and a half tons on board, it can easily get away from the operator, and potentially do a lot of damage.

One of the main advantages that platform trucks have over other carts is the sheer size of load that they are able to carry. On one of the larger models of steel platform truck you will find an area of around 18 square feet of usable space with a capacity of around 3,600 pounds. This is plenty of room and strength to allow staff to move even the heaviest items around the workplace with relative ease.

There are variations of the standard steel construction platform trucks that feature pneumatic wheels rather than casters, and these are specially designed for use on outdoor areas such as in garden centers and on farms where a larger wheel is necessary to prevent the truck getting stuck in the ground. These trucks are typically restricted to being able to carry a lower weight of around 2,500 pounds, which is still a fairly large amount of any component you care to thing about.

For roles where the ability to carry very heavy weights is not so important, it is sensible to invest in the less expensive hardwood platform trucks rather than the steel models. These trucks can typically handle up to 1,500 lb of mass, and are built to the same high standard as the steel alternative.

When the load being carried requires greater control, or in a situation where there is a greater risk of damage to the surrounding area, a twin handled platform truck is a sensible investment that will allow for better handling when properly used, although it can also be handled perfectly well by a single operator when required.

Although most uses of platform trucks tend to be in situations where very large loads are being moved around, it is important to ensure that staff have access to equipment for moving lighter items too, and you can find the perfect solution in the form of their versatile lightweight plastic trucks that are rated up to 500 pounds, and are ideal for moving boxes around in an office environment.

Type of non-geographic telephone numbers

Non geographic telephone numbers are a special type of telephone number, that is also considered to be a telemarketing number. These types of numbers do not pinpoint your business to a specific area geographically; instead, it allows you to take advantage of your total market nationally. There are many different categories of non geographic telephone numbers, seven to be exact.

These are known as:

- Free phone

- Lo-Call

- Fixed Rate

- National Rate

- Premium Rate

- Alphanumeric

- Personal

Free phone is a non geographical telephone number that offers your customers and potential customers the ability to call your business without having to pay any type of fees for the call. This is a great business tool as it gives your customers confidence and makes them believe that you really want their business. Free phone numbers can be distinguished by 0800.

Lo-Call are telephone numbers that begin with 0845. This is yet another great business tool because it gives your long distance callers local rate calls, even when they are on the opposite side of the country. Receiving the calls are free for your business, all you have to do is pay the deposit and monthly fees.

Fixed rate numbers are typically 0844 or 0871, these are traditional telemarketing phone numbers. These types of numbers charge the customer for their calls to your business. 0871 calls typically cost the customer's more than the 0844.

National rate telephone numbers begin with 0870 and allow your customers to call your business with a cheaper national rate, no matter where they are in the United Kingdom. This type of non geographic telephone number is great for information hot lines, order lines, help lines, and technical support centres.

Premium rate telephone numbers start with 090. These are great for competitions, chat lines, and technical support calls. These are premium calls that charge the callers higher rates per minute than 0871 or 0844 telephone numbers. The business is not required to cover any of the costs associated with the telephone call and recovers a large portion of the money paid by the customer.

Alphanumeric telephone numbers are words instead of numbers. These are perfect advertisement for many customers. This could be a catchy slogan or something to identify the company with. By using alphanumeric telephone numbers you can catch and keep the attention of your customers with something easy to remember.

Personal telephone numbers start with 0700. This type of number goes by many names such as call shield, follow me, one, and personal numbers. The great advantage about this type of telephone number is that it allows you to provide your customers with just one telephone number, but have that number route to any other number you wish. This is perfect for taking your calls while at home, travelling, or in another office, but do not want to miss the all important telephone calls.

As you can see, there are many different types of non geographic telephone numbers to learn about. Choosing the right one for your business means understanding your options and choosing the one that best suits your businesses needs.

Help my script isn t working

Here’s a list of tips and tricks to consult at two a. m. when you’re trying to put your site to bed and that d*mn script just won’t work.

1. Make a note of the error message, and type it in Google. Leave out your unique paths and file names. Someone else has had the same problem, and some nice person will have posted a solution.

2. If it's a server error, repeat what caused the error. Go quickly to the error log on your web hosting control panel. Any clues there?

3. Read the README file. Have it open on-screen when you're setting up the script.

4. Use a text editor like Wordpad or Notepad to edit scripts. Simply put, your editor should not change anything beyond the bare text that you type on screen. Microsoft Word will alter your formatting, with unhappy consequences.

5. Avoid wrapping lines. Check that your editor is not set to do this.

6. Avoid putting characters like " , ' ; in if you don't know what you're doing.

The server may read these as programming code. Apostrophes and other non-alphabet characters can be 'escaped' out of a script by putting a backward slash in front of them.

7. Get the paths to required files correct in the script itself and in the html files involved. Telnet to your site, and use the pwd command: ‘pwd somename’ (without the apostrophes) to find where directories and programs are on your server.

8. Windows (MS-DOS) may insert carriage returns which cause errors in Unix. In Perl, You need to have a line break after #!/usr/bin/perl. It appears to be there, but you may have to insert it manually via Telnet. Otherwise you may get an error.

9. Permissions: Set permissions of scripts to 705 (e. g. 'CHMOD 705 yourscript. cgi' in a telnet session). CHMOD 606 for text files the script may need to read or write to. CHMOD 707 any file or sub-directory the script author asks you to. The rest can usually be left at the default 644.

(The use of 0 here in permissions is to stop people in the same ‘group’ as you peeking at your files).

10. Upload scripts in ASCII mode only, or you'll get errors in them (the text will be shifted around if you upload in Binary).

FTP files with the extensions. tar. gz,.zip, and image files, in BINARY mode only.

11. Check whether you've put a trailing forwardslash / where you're not supposed to, or not inserted one when you're supposed to!

12. Email addresses in a script may need a backwardslash before the @ to work.

13. Don't change too many things at once. Do the absolute minimum to get the script working, then change one thing at a time.

14. If you are changing the HTML code of a form page that posts to the script: Clear your browser's cache. You may still be loading an old version of your page, with tags that your script now won't recognise.

Your ISP may also be using its cache of your web page. Try connecting via another ISP, or use a proxy service like Anonymouse. ws to view your page.

15. The error 'document contains no data' in your browser usually means a path or a file name is wrong. It can also mean the file you're calling is 0 bytes in size.

16. Don't try setting scripts up when you're tired. If you've been working for hours, take a break, or go to bed!

17. It's a fact that, after all this, your script might have a bug. Check any discussion boards at the vendor's website, or general webmaster forums, to see if this is a common problem. Report exactly what problems you're having, and your server set-up, to the programmers. It's unlikely you're the first person to have it.

Web hosting for internet marketers

Anybody researching the internet for web hosting services will find an abundance of hosting providers to choose from along with a multitude of plans available. You’ll also discover that the majority of providers will offer many of the same plan features. However, there are some hosting companies that offer additional tools directed towards internet marketers and the home business industry.

Even for experienced internet marketers, with the variety of companies and plans available, it’s not always easy to determine which web hosting service will best meet his or her specific business needs. With so many options, how do you know which hosting provider is best suited for you and your business?

One thing for certain is that whatever you decide, do not make the mistake of basing your decision on the price of hosting alone. One thing that has been substantiated time and time again is the old adage “you get what you pay for.” Well, this also applies to web hosting!

If you’re an internet marketer or own an internet home business, listed below are some common features you should be looking for in a web hosting package. Of course, it will be easy to find providers that offer more that what’s listed here (e. g. 1,000 MB of disk space, unlimited sub-domains, unlimited emails, etc), not to mention a number of additional features, so keep in mind that these benchmarks only represent a few of the minimum requirements:

- 300+ MB of Disk Space

- 10 GB or more of Monthly Bandwidth

- 50+ Email Accounts

- 20+ Sub-domains

- CGI-Bin

- 3+ MySQL Databases

In addition to these common features, there are some web hosting companies that cater to internet marketers and home business entrepreneurs by offering useful marketing tools as part of their hosting package. As you probably know, having access to in-demand marketing tools is a key ingredient in becoming successful on the internet. Some of the tools I’m referring to include:

- Unlimited Follow-up Autoresponders

- Resalable E-Book Collections

- FFA Leads

- Lead Capture Systems

- Ad Tracking

- Shopping Carts

- Scripts

- Affiliate Programs and Commissions

These tools are a great benefit to both new and experienced internet marketers. But, in addition to the tools, another very important difference I’ve found with these types of providers is their exceptional level of customer support. Whether it’s assisting with the installation of a script, a problem copying files to the server, or responding to a general question, the support staff tend to be very knowledgeable and can be contacted around the clock either via telephone, live chat or email.

Compared to some web hosting services, you may notice the cost of these plans to be slightly higher because of the extra marketing tools and the quality of customer support provided. However, with the growing popularity of internet marketing and the ever increasing number of new home businesses popping up on the internet, these providers can definitely give you an advantage over your competition. And, if you choose a provider that offers an affiliate program, you could even end up with free web hosting and a profit to boot!

A tutorial on web directories

Trying to become one of the top rated websites on the internet search engines is not an easy task to say the least. With the number of websites currently in operation creeping towards one trillion, there are those that believe that the old strategies for gaining a top rank may be dead, but there are still some things that a person should do if they have any chance of showing up in the search results of any of the top search engines. Thankfully these are anything but difficult and anyone with a small amount of internet related search knowledge can work through the issues. Working with these issues is fairly simple and the main goal is to get listed in the web directories.

Web directories are nothing more then storage facilities for website links and descriptions. That sounds simple enough right? Well what most people fail to realize is the fact that they are much more important then was previously thought, making web directories a top priority for those who are thinking of launching a website. This all stands to reason as web directories are the number one area where search engines and other systems look to produce information for web browsers around the world. The reason behind this is the fact that web directories are known to store and sort all of the links that are placed with them in a fashion that makes searching for the proper results simple. This creates an ease of operation for the search engines who normally use complicated equations in an effort to produce the best results.

Web directories are a completely opt in type deal. Only those who submit their website link and description directly to the web directories are listed and sometimes not even then. There are specific criteria for web directories that must be met before the link will be approved. In most cases this involves properly listing the category where the link will appear and an honest and clear cut mini description. For the most part the web directories of the net are edited only by a computer program that looks for certain markers and reads the keywords as they apply to the site. There are however several new human edited web directories that are in use by the giants of internet searching, like Google and Yahoo. With the human edited web directories there is a lot less chance of error and a better outlook for the search criteria.

Site promotion tools is the cart before the horse

Have you ever wondered why it is important to submit your website information to directories? It’s a valid question. After all, if a search engine will eventually crawl your website isn’t it enough to simply make sure the site is infused with beneficial Search Engine Optimization (SEO) procedures while avoiding potentially time consuming directory submissions?

If you have used comprehensive optimization strategies, but have failed to submit to web directories I’d like the opportunity to make a case for directory submissions by viewing this process as valuable site promotion tool.

It is probable that you have the belief that the primary interest from site visitors will come as a result of a search engine query. Let me just say up front you are correct in looking at this as a key component to site promotion. Most of your visitors will come directly to your site based on a qualified keyword search.

At this point you may be thinking I am struggling with finding my original point, so I’ll cut to the chase. Answer this question, “Where do search engines go first to find new websites?”

The answer?

Web directories.

What you may have avoided as a somewhat ineffective site promotion tool may actually help you step to the front of the line in having your site crawled (or visited by spiderbots).

It may not be the most fun you’ve ever had to go through the process of filling out all the fields in a directory submission, but it really can help you.

It may also be tempting to simply fill things out as quickly as possible while doing your site rankings a disservice. What I mean by that is if you don’t match your business with the right industry in a directory list your site may not be ‘crawled’ correctly because the search engine is dealing with faulty information, and you were the one that gave them the misleading data.

If you want search engines to notice you consider a trip to some of the best known web directories and spend some quality time making sure you complete the data to the best of your ability. The search engines want their searches to be successful, make sure you give them something to go on.

There are so many site promotion tools, but the success of a search engine ‘crawl’ may have more to do with the initially successful completion of directory submission data than your investment in SEO efforts.

Both are important, but make sure the proverbial cart (directory submissions) comes before the horse (SEO strategies).

Online videos - the visual way of marketing on the net

With video technology, communication can now be a totally different experience. This article discusses the many ways by which video technology can be used in internet marketing.

Almost every form of interaction one experiences everyday entails communication. It is through communication that we are able to understand others, learn new ideas, explore new wisdom, and express our own feelings and thoughts. Over the passage of many years, communication has evolved from a simple system of sounds in the ancient times to a very advanced feature of video technology.

Video technology’s use in internet marketing is also a rapidly rising trend these days. Here’s how you can be in on this trend to boost your web presence.

--- Using Videos for Internet Marketing ---

1. Video Email Marketing Campaigns

People’s attention span has decreased with the increasing saturation of information in the internet. People only have only a few seconds to spare for communication and information that do not interest them. The challenge to internet marketers, therefore, lies in catching hold of the customers’ interests for more than a few seconds, or getting the message across in as short a period of time as possible.

Video emails make the latter possible. For a few seconds of video, people can be told about your wonderful product or service. Now, people won’t have to read reams and reams of your ad copy. They only need to spare a few seconds of their time to view your video pitch.

Video emails are also more effective than emailed copy because videos are much more stimulating and engaging. You can also demonstrate your product’s effectiveness in video – something that you cannot do with text copy which allows only descriptions, not demonstrations.

With the current developments in video streaming, video emails have also never been easier to use. Your target consumers won’t have to download the video to watch them. You need only include a preview clip with the email and this clip, when clicked, will connect the viewer to the video server which can stream the video live to your consumer’s media player.

2. Videos in your website and online blogs

The brain becomes more engaged with multimedia displays and content. Therefore, you should be sure to incorporate videos in your website and online blogs. Your videos online can be lengthier and more detailed than the video emails that you have sent to your target consumers’ inbox.

Through video infomercials and updates, you can get your message across much faster and you can be more easily remembered by your site’s and your blog’s visitors. Moreover, if you provide tags and codes with your video, your website visitors can easily copy the video content to their own blogs and personal websites. This will increase your business’ reach.

3. Video Blogging

Now this is the most practical application of video technology today in internet marketing. YouTube is a huge community of people who love watching and referring videos. In fact, YouTube has become so popular that Google even purchased it from its original owners. Major broadcasting companies have also agreed to supply YouTube with video content from shows that they wish to promote online.

All you will need to do is become a member of this enormous community of video lovers and post you own interesting videos. You can post your company infomercials, if you want. However, for more effective marketing, you’d better make your videos more interesting and captivating. Your video clip should have value beyond your marketing pitch so people will be more inclined to pass it on to others.

List building 101

The process of list building may best be defined as a worldwide Rolodex. You have information to share, but it’s hard to let people know about it if your ‘Rolodex’ is empty.

List building is the process of gathering email addresses for the purpose of sending information, offers and other marketing information to clients and potential customers.

It might be tempting to gather all the email addresses you have in your email account and place them on a list to receive your information. You might also think that purchasing an email list from an online source might help you build your list, but there is a much greater likelihood that you will be reported as a spammer if the recipients don’t know you and isn’t thrilled to receive email from you.

Building an organic list can take time, but you stand a better chance of actually connecting with a receptive audience.

You may find that list building is best achieved by providing site visitors with information gathering forms. An autoreponder can often manage the automated distribution of the information they seek, but the customer information is gathered and can be used to invite them to participate in redeeming money saving offers from you. Some forms include an ‘already highlighted’ box that indicates the individual wishes to receive future e-offers. The premise behind this is many customers do not look at every field in the form and may not uncheck the box when submitting their information.

No matter the method you use to gather names in your list building process make sure to honor requests to unsubscribe. If you manage the list manually make sure to remove the name quickly or risk a report of spam.

One way to grow your list is to make sure the information you deliver is targeted, above average and something the client will look forward to receiving. The content could be information or it could be a simple sales flyer, but by staying on target you will be more likely to connect with your client.

Don’t abuse your list by sending them a significant volume of email. Carefully plan each mailing and make sure it is strongly related to your core objectives. If you send too much - too often you may be perceived as only slightly better than those incredibly annoying forwards that we all delete from our email files.

List building is a proven method of devising solid contacts for online marketing, but make sure to avoid spamming techniques – the reputation of your online firm may be at stake.

Utterly droolworthy power point presentations

You can sell Benzes to refugees during war time.

You easily part a nun from her vow of chastity.

No doubt - you’re the greatest at influencing people one-on-one.

But can you conduct killer power point presentations?

If you’re like 99% of all the presentors out there, I bet you ‘re a veteran at observing the MEGO Syndrome in audiences.

MEGO?

“Mine Eyes Glaze Over”

That’s right. Three minutes into the powerpoint presentation, the audience is restless. Some begin sneaking out the door. The more polite ones just pretend to listen behind dark spectacles. But you know where their minds went.

The MEGO Syndrome arises from five monumental presentation mistakes. Do the opposite and you’ll deliver utterly drool worthy power point presentations - and influence the socks out of your crowd.

1. Keeping Them Guessing. Many speakers fail to give a roadmap of their speech. So throughout the presentation, the crowd is asking ‘huh? What’s his point? Where’s this leading to?’ Guide them by the hand. Before the actual presentation, outline exactly what you’ll cover and let them know when you’ll finish.

2. Failing to Connect At the Beginning. Audiences don’t like to be preached to. They’d prefer to be talked with. Keep your style interactive. Open the talk by asking a rhetorical question, launching an anecdote, or saying a shocking statement - then invite a comment! You’ll draw them in like Pirahnnas to a pork buffet.

3. Looking at the Floor and Closing Your Body. I’ve seen it so often. The speaker assumes a closed body language. Guilty of this? Hands in pocket. Arms crossed. Legs tight together. Look stiff, and you alienate the audience. To invite the audience to appreciate your power point presentation, move around. Gesture. Smile!

4. DataDumping. I’ve attended hundreds of business presentations where the speaker fills the slide with size 9 font text crammed to the margin. Then they read each line. Good lord! We’re attending a presentation, not an online reading course! The best slides follow the 4 by 4 rule. Four words across, four bullets down.

5. Forgetting the Call of Action. At the end, the speaker jumps to “any questions?” without giving the audience a specific command. Is it to buy? To invest? To visit a website? Without the call to action, the audience is left wondering what you yammered about for the last 20 minutes of their valuable time.

So here’s my call to action for you: create drool worthy powerpoint presentations. Right now.

Your audience deserves it

The importance of innovation

A regular and repeated argument in commercial circles is the one that debates the order of importance between the factory floor producing the product and the sales team ensuring that it finds its place in the market. While the latter ensures the generation of essential income to fuel and grow the company, without something to sell they wouldn’t even have a job let alone the commodity with which to generate sales. A regular chicken and egg debate if ever there was one – or is it?

To my mind both camps are eligible for the title of “most important” for this platitude must surely belong to another group even further back along the chain, the “innovator”. For without the guy who dreams up the product in the first place there is neither need for production or sale of the same. So, surely, it is the inventor, the ideas man, the designer who has first claim to assuring the success of any corporation regardless of its size or market influence.

How many factories exist now thanks to that Eureka moment of the innovator who sits up in bed at three in the morning armed with a thought that could change the World, or at least influence a small part of what we require to make it a progressive place within which to live?

The truth is we all need each other to complete a productive circle that involves many essential contributors to making an idea a commercial viability. To my mind there should be a much easier line of communication between industry and innovator than there would appear to be.

How many thousands of “would-be inventors” are there out there with ideas they have devoted their lives to but find it almost impossible to find commercial interest for, to aid or further their development. Most have no idea where to start when it comes to presenting an idea or even what rules apply to ensuring that their “genius” is not misguided. Organisations exist who are supposed to help but even they can be hard to find if unfamiliar with the territory.

Innovators are therefore left to find whatever route they can to reach a possible “buyer” for their idea. Many are not interested in producing the product themselves or getting over involved in it’s marketing, they are happy to leave that to the experts, leaving them, the creatives, free to continue further product development and the conception of new ideas.

One such link opportunity exists through a marvellous new website called DebutDay. Com An exciting new conduit and notice board that aims to connect the creative with the commercial world. To date innovators have relied on letter writing, agents, local development agencies etc to reach their goal. More recently innovators are falling “victim” to the audience hunting TV predators with programmes such as “ The Dragons Den”, “The Big Idea” etc who essentially use the novelty of the innovator as an ingredient for entertainment.

Often preying on the inventors need to win the Ј100,000 prize that may or may not actually help them towards fulfilling their dream. For every idea that is deemed praise worthy enough to progress forward there are many others who are left behind, often ridiculed in the process.

This is not honest assistance for creative people and does little more than mock their ingenuity and genuine dedication to what they believe in. The result of which is that, in my opinion, many will leave the experience more damaged than before they took part.

DebutDay. com does not judge or ridicule, it does not exclude or filter people out, nor does it offer preferential treatment. It is simply an equal opportunity facility for everyone to use as a way to say “Here I am and this is what I can do” thus ensuring all who access it are able to conduct their own development in a fair and dignified manner. So much more wholesome than the speculative route offered by “Game Shows”.

So, power to the innovator and all creatives. They are amongst the most important people on the planet who between them generate all the things we come to covet or depend on. That service is something that is greatly overlooked and under valued.

It is now time to give some new power back to them in order that they may have a greater chance of seeing their dreams fully realised. Maybe they should all take a look at DebutDay. com?
