EMOTIONAL ISSUES

Ambivalence about pregnancy and parenthood is normal and natural. But the older a woman gets, the more complicated her emotions about it may be. The single most important herb for pregnant women over forty is comfrey (Symphytum uplandica hybrids). The leaves of the mature plant contain an abundance of constituents beneficial to mother and babe, including generous amounts of minerals, alantoin, proteins, and many vitamins. The minerals in comfrey help ensure healthy nervous system growth; the fetus’s developing brain uses the proteins. And the alantoin helps the mother's tissues become stretchy and elastic.

Aging can lead to increased stiffness and brittleness in bones and muscles, making pregnancy more arduous and painful, labor slower and more difficult, and injury more likely during birth. The hormones of pregnancy, which help soften and relax the pelvic tissues, may not be produced in adequate amounts. Comfrey comes to the rescue! Comfrey creates flexible and strong tissues throughout the body especially mucus surfaces (including intestines, uterus, bladder and vagina), the bones, the ligaments and tendons, and the skin.

Regular use of the leaf infusion, at least a quart a week, promotes a safe delivery by:

• strengthening uterine muscles and preparing them to work easily and well
  
  
• strengthening perineal tissues so they become resistant to tearing
  
  
• strengthening uterine ligaments so the uterus does not prolapse
  
  
• strengthening the bladder and increasing resistance to bacterial infection
  
  
• strengthening the vagina and helping to promote an environment hostile to infection
  
  
• providing easily assimilated minerals to prevent eclampsia and other complications
  
  
• helping the bones of the pelvis flex and open during birth
  
  
• increasing iron in the blood and thus forestalling post-partum hemorrhage.

I harvest the flowering stalks when they are fully formed; and I am careful to use the cultivated garden comfrey, which grows very tall and has purplish, pinkish, bluish flowers. I avoid wild comfrey, which stays rather small even when flowering, and has cream-colored, white, or yellowish flowers.

Some people feel that comfrey is not safe to use during pregnancy. Some people feel comfrey is not safe to use internally at all. I disagree. The roots of comfrey do contain compounds that are best avoided during pregnancy (as do all parts of the wild plant). In fact, I rarely use comfrey root because of the possibility of liver congestion, and I strongly caution those who have had hepatitis, chemotherapy, or alcohol problems to strictly avoid comfrey root. Yet even these people can benefit from use of comfrey leaf infusions.

Another important herbal ally for women over forty who desire a child is chaste tree (Vitex agnus-castii). It has been used in Africa and parts of Europe for several thousand years to discourage the male libido. In women, the effects seem to be the opposite! It may also be a fertility enhancer. Most importantly, chaste tree is a strengthening tonic for the pituitary gland, the master control gland for the endocrine system. Daily use of the tincture of the berries (1 dropperful/1 ml 2-3 times daily) had been shown to increase progesterone - the hormone of pregnancy - and luteinizing hormone - which promotes conception. Because it can lower prolactin levels, chaste tree is best discontinued during the last trimester of pregnancy.

Dong quai (Angelica sinensis) is not recommended for women over forty. In general, this herb promotes blood flow to the uterus and surrounding tissues. This can promote the growth of fibroids and increase the risk of post-partum hemorrhage. Ginger is a better warming tonic; motherwort is better at relieving pain; and raspberry is better at preparing the uterus for birth.

How to raise your kids in a balanced way

Although many everyone has their own different styles of parenting, there are 4 main styles of parenting. These four different styles are authoritarian, authoritative, permissive, and than uninvolved.

Uninvolved parenting is really just a lack of parenting. It is hard on children and should not be the way of parenting. Kids suffer issues such as feelings of rejection, lack of self esteem, and issues with trust. In the long run the children are harmed emotionally.

Authoritarian, authoritative, and permissive styles describe a range of styles. Authoritarian parents are at one end of the spectrum. This kind of parenting tends to be high in structure and low in responsiveness. Permissive parents are then located at the opposite side of the scale. This parenting style tends to be low in structure and high in responsiveness. Authoritative parenting tends to be located in the middle of the scale, and is a balanced parenting style. There are many different parenting styles out there; these three represent a very wide range scale.

Structure is important to authoritative parenting. There are clear rules and limits and children know that there are consequences for their actions. Routines and schedules help provide a sense of stability for children. For example, a child knows when bedtime is, and a teen knows when curfew is, and both know what will happen if he or she is late. Stability in this sense allows children to feel secure, and that, it turn, allows for an all around better atmosphere. There is flexibility in authoritative parenting that allows the parent to bend the rules on occasion. Like if a child would like to stay up late to watch a favorite TV show.

Authoritative parents also are responsive. Children have a voice in the family and the input is value. Mom and dad respond to their children's needs and problems and are sensitive to their children's emotions and feelings.

In authoritative parenting, decisions are made collaboratively. Children have a choice, but only up to a certain point. Parents should listen to their input, and take into consideration what the child is saying, and feeling, but the final decision lies with the parents. These types of families function as a team, and different needs are accommodated for. This results in less conflict and more balance.

Authoritative parenting is a balanced parenting style. Structure and responsive are both high. The parents are involved with their child's life, and are flexible, but they still are parents. There are structures, limits, rules and boundaries, but they are not rigid. Children with this kind of parenting tend to do well socially and functionally in life. They tend to not get into problems and not to have serious emotional problems. This type of parenting is balanced, and produces balanced children.

A system can be measured objectively because the parameters are concrete. The zigzag is an example. Going with a double digit favorite off a single digit loss would be another hypothetical.

Of course there can be modest variances depending on when and where a database gathers lines, but over any statistically significant period it does not make a huge difference.

A theory is much like a system but does not have objective parameters. Our theory is the better the team is that the zigzag system favors and the bigger the margin the loss was, the more compelling it is to "go with the team off a loss."

True one could come up with a system to measure our upgrading of the methodology. An example would be going with a team with a winning percentage of .575 or higher off a loss of eight or more. The problem is we believe a mental sliding scale combining and most importantly, weighing the two factors works best. It allows for a mixing and matching of the two parameters.

For example, this year as in most years, it would not apply or would only be weighed slightly if we are talking about the bottom three seeds in each conference off a loss. There is a reason they are called "mismatches".

No. 4 versus five and the next three rounds of the playoffs (barring huge first round upsets), it is weighed much heavier. Remember we told you the mocker grew conspicuously quieter as the postseason went on. Now you know why.

It’s one of those theories that almost make too much sense. During the regular season of every sport we remind you of the Golden Rule to not merely go with the "team that needs it more" if said team is fighting just to make the playoffs.

We call attention to the fact if a team were proficient at winning "must win" games they would not be playing in must-win games late in the year.

Conversely, a one through five seed, especially as the playoffs go deeper, has shown the ability to rebound from adversity and respond when their backs are to the wall.

To the handicapper there is a titanic difference between desperate elite teams and equally desperate inferior teams playing in a crucial contest. It’s like the difference between seeing Jennifer Lopez and Rosie O’Donnell in a string bikini.

Okay, I don’t follow the analogy myself, but the exemplification of the distinction is infallible. From a handicapping standpoint one can’t measure the success of the zigzag if Phoenix coming off a loss is given the same weight (no pun intended Rosie) as Washington or Golden State following a setback.

Likewise, the margin of the loss is applicable for at least two obvious reasons. As we have said many times, nothing affects public perception more than the last game they have seen. It’s not uncommon for a blowout in the previous game to influence an opening line by 2-3 points and more times than not, the closing line by more.

Plus, no matter how motivated and well-coached a squad is, it defies human nature to approach a game with as much vengeance off a 22-point win as it is for the team off the huge setback.

So to friends and foes alike of zigzag, a .700 or better team off a loss is not even close to being the same as the below .520 teams zigging. Nor is mindset the same for a team that lost a game that went down to the wire the same as one that got humiliated on national television.

Love - forgiveness is true love

If our darling makes a mistake, shall we berate them? Shall we blame them and give them pain? Shall we hold it against them forever? Shall we call them betrayer? If we do all this then it is not love, but a business relationship. I have given you so much now you give your truth, faithfulness and everything else in return.

In love, we have to forgive. We have to pacify our beloved that mistakes are a way of life and everybody does them. We have to tell them not to worry and we are with them. We have to tell them to stop thinking of what happened and think of good things and try to live life joyously. But a majority of us behaves in reverse. That is our failure. It was never love to begin with. If you believe that you love your darling, please learn forgiving.

What bruce springsteen taught me about writing

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the release of Bruce Springsteen's groundbreaking album Born to Run. Columbia Records is celebrating by re-releasing the disc with lots of audio and video goodies including interview material of Bruce discussing the writing of this seminal work. I'm a fan, so you can imagine I've been gobbling up this stuff like Thanksgiving came early! What's hitting home for me is hearing about how Springsteen's back was really up against the wall while he was creating this album. His record label was considering dropping him so he knew he had to make something happen. When people ask me "how do I know if my work is good enough?", I think of Springsteen because surely he wasn't asking that when he was trying to figure out what to write. The answer could have been "it's not" if he had asked someone at his record company. He had to work and learn for himself how to tell if his work was good enough. This is what I learned from how he did it.

1.) Learn From the Great Ones

In the summer of 1974 Springsteen could have been lamenting the fact that his first two albums had not been successful and he was living in a tiny house in New Jersey while the country was in the throes of a severe economic depression. But he wasn't. He was focused on his songwriting. "I had a record player by the side of my bed," he wrote in his book, Songs. "At night I'd lie back and listen to records by Roy Orbison, the Ronettes, the Beach Boys, and the other great '60s artists. These were records whose full depth I'd missed the first time around. But now I was appreciating their craft and power." Notice he wasn't saying "There's no way I can create songs like that!" Instead he was considering "what can I add to the conversation?" He was getting inspired and educated at the same time.

2.) Aspire to Be Great Yourself

In an interview about Born to Run, Springsteen says he knew his record company was about to drop him. He added, "I knew I had to write something great." Springsteen didn't have to write something great. He could have folded up his tent and said, "they don't like me, I'm just gonna stay in Asbury Park and play where people appreciate me and that's it." But he didn't do that. He also didn't ask whether he was good enough. He simply challenged himself to go beyond himself--to be great. Ask yourself: what are you writing right now and is it challenging you to be great? What would it take for you to start thinking this way?

3.) Find Trusted Ears for Feedback

Yes, it is hard to know on your own whether you're on track with your writing. That's when you recruit your own inner circle of readers whose ears and eyes you trust. Jon Landau became one of those trusted pairs of ears for Springsteen. They became friends during the writing of Born to Run and Bruce often sent Jon, then a Boston music critic, tapes of the work as it progressed. When the work stalled, Landau was the one who came in and helped Bruce put it all together. Who can be those ears or eyes for you? Try to keep the inner circle small. If you have too many opinions showered on your work it may cloud your creative judgment.

4.) Try Something Different

Most of the songs on Born to Run were written on piano--this from a guy known for his raucous Fender guitar. But writing on piano gave Springsteen new ideas and presented new opportunities for him to explore. It also gave the album an amazingly emotional and intimate vibe that I find intoxicating. What can you do differently that can inspire a leap to your next level? Set your novel in 1905 instead of 2005? Write from the point of view of the opposite sex? Be a little creative with your non-fiction? Take a chance. No effort is ever wasted even if you're writing badly--you can still learn from what you've done wrong.

5.) Think Local, Write Global

One of the changes Springsteen made with Born to Run was that the characters in his songs were "less eccentric and less local" than the ones on his previous albums. The people in Born to Run "could have been anybody and everybody," he says. "When the screen door slams on 'Thunder Road', you're not necessarily on the Jersey Shore anymore. You could be anywhere in America." And it's true. Millions of people connected with--and bought-- Born to Run. I sought the same kind of connection for my novel. Though the family in All I Need to Get By is African-American, I've had readers of all races tell me how they have seen themselves in one or more of the characters and how they related strongly to the book's family issues. Touching people in this way is key to developing an attentive audience. How can you open up your work to a larger audience while still being true to your story?

If you still have doubts, think of this quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson: "Whatever course you decide upon, there is always someone to tell you that you are wrong. There are always difficulties arising which tempt you to believe that your critics are right. To map out a course of action and follow it to an end requires...courage." Be courageous for yourself and your writing. Your own Born to Run may be waiting to come out.

What does it mean to be an expatriate part 1

Do you want to leave your home country because of taxes, limited work opportunities, or do you just have a desire to live a different life? Do you want to find better options for a better life elsewhere? Are you planning to make this happen? If so, you are part of a new trend of people called “expatriates.”

The dictionary definition of the term "expatriate" or "expat", means one who gives up their residence or citizenship. As suggested, the reasons are often for tax benefits. The amazing modern technology that is available to us these days opens up the possibilities and freedom to live wherever you want. All one needs is a computer, high-speed Internet access and a phone for you to be in business, which can be conducted from anywhere, and at anytime. Electronic banking also makes living abroad a whole lot easier and more feasible. You could have your money in the UK for example, while you live in Panama. You can move your money anywhere you want to and if you have done your homework, you can move your money to wherever you would like and gain the best interest or returns. In many cases, this is completely tax free, and without government interference.

It makes sense then to do your research and if you plan to expatriate to choose the best country for you. You, with your work and business skills, financial means available to you at the time, may be a big benefit to other countries, which offer better and freer lifestyles.

There are many hotspots today that expatriates are moving to. Countries such as Argentina, Belize, Brazil, Chile, Croatia, Ecuador, France, Honduras, Italy, Malaysia,

Portugal, Romania, Nicaragua, Panama and Thailand to name but a few.

Refinancing mistakes and misconceptions

It is often the biggest mistake we make when attempting to refinance by overlooking and disregarding equity lines that are right around us and that can possibly be sourced with a little ingenuity. You never overlook any possible source of finance when building a property portfolio. This is a common mistake that can cost us a lot in the future as without the right financing we will be subject to things such as higher interest rates as well.

When we look at the equity available around us we also often limit it to our own belongings. This is not a bad practice however when looking to build out we have to think at a deeper level. In our list of equity lines we should in addition to our belongings have a potential list of persons that we can approach to sign with us as guarantors or even as joint owners. This is important to consider in tandem with refinancing.

There is no need to look too far when compiling this list and in fact this list should be close to home for the most part. Ask yourself this question, "Do you know anyone that owns their own home?" I am certain the answer will be an outstanding yes. What about someone that has their own business? These are all options when you are looking for someone to give you that last edge towards getting a loan or even in given you the additional boost so that refinancing is easier to accomplish.

You can use your own resources such as your own equity and any savings you may have and refinance as well but the importance of a guarantor is often overlooked. It is hard to get that loan if you have the requirement of a large amount or sum of money. Even with equity and savings there is no guarantee that the person that is approving the loan will be sufficiently convinced of your ability to repay and hence refinancing is easier with that additional guarantor. It also helps that this person is willing to go out on a limb for you so the provider of the loan is able to establish some level of trust that you are capable of repaying.

This is where building a trust relationship comes in handy. Institutions do not approve loans. We go to many places to source loans such as:

These are just a few of the institutions that we can approach. However it is the people in these institutions that we have to convince that we are capable to handle a refinancing of our loan and repay it efficiently. We also have to convince them that our plan is one that will be profitable. They are in essence putting there security at stake when they approve a loan for us and as such there must be a certain level of trust in your ability to fulfil the obligation of a loan.

What is the law of attraction? You may have seen “The Secret” or “What The Bleep Do We Know?” and have gotten an idea of what the law of attraction is all about. You may have even created a vision board, done affirmations, and focused on the things that you want.

If you’re like most people, you may have wanted to harness the law of attraction to boost your financial level, increase health and energy, or experience better personal relationships in your life. When “The Secret” first came out, a lot of people follow the guidelines it spoke of. For a while, they were real champions at it, but then they just quit. They got discouraged.

Why? Because the law of attraction is more than just focusing on what it is you want and then expecting results in a few weeks or a few months. The law of attraction works with all of your levels, past your conscious thoughts and feelings. In order for you to get to the deep inside, you’ve got to become still and clear your head. This requires practice, as you may not be used to becoming completely still in mind and body. But regular practice will make things easier for you.

When you’ve working with all of your inner and outer levels of yourself, then you’re able to harness the law of attraction to bring you all of the good things you know you deserve. It goes beyond just mere thoughts, but feelings. How does it feel to have perfect health? How does it feel to have more than enough material abundance? Are you able to feel this right now? It may be hard for you, because your logical mind is telling you that your current situation does not reflect this idea. Remember, life is full of changes, so you cannot base yourself on the externals.

As you begin to play with the feeling of already having whatever it is that you want, you will find that it gets easier and easier to already feel abundance, health and love. And as that increases within you, so your outer world will start to reflect that as well. This is the essence of the law of attraction. Some things may come easier to you than others. Enjoy the process, and enjoy the feeling. How you feel is everything when it comes to the law of attraction.

No se si recordбis aquella otra pelнcula 1984....їO tal vez estamos siendo demasiado paranoicos y la realidad no es tan tremendamente manipuladora, y de hecho da un buen sitio a la libertad?
Empнricamente, sin embargo, es innegable que estamos programados para NO poder acceder a ciertas de nuestras propias potencialidades.

Lo que muchos llaman terapia de la atracciуn, que es un gran йxito en todo el mundo, y que se desprende en parte de esta pelнcula que acabamos de ver, es sencillamente el apoyo sistemбtico (coaching) orientado a que una persona tome conciencia de su poder de atraer hacia sн cualquier cosa por medio del uso de su pensamiento. Un amigo mнo me contу el otro dнa que habнa salido con su automуvil y cuando estaba a mitad de camino, se dio cuenta de que no habнa llevado consigo la licencia de conductor...un poco mбs adelante en el camino, vio un mуvil de la policнa deteniendo vehнculos al azar...mi amigo se empezу a poner tenso "que no me paren" pensaba, una y otra vez. Buscaba aparentar indiferencia y tranquilidad, pero como es obvio, la policнa lo detuvo, y … como es costumbre en mi paнs de origen, pudo irse a casa dejбndole unos billetes!! (risas), no ahora de veras... estoy seguro de que todos conocйis la sensaciуn, seguro que os ha ocurrido alguna vez, їno? Cuando piensas "que no me pare, que no me pare" pero en alguna parte sabes que es justamente por esa sintonнa de pensamiento que te van a detener. Lo primero que quiero decir aquн es que, mбs allб de toda la teorнa que haya aquн, hay un hecho innegable, y es que todos los que estamos aquн tenemos bastante poco dominio de nuestro pensamiento. Para graficar mi punto, vamos a hacer otro pequeсo ejercicio: Tratad de pensar en algo…cualquier cosa que deseбis. No sй, por ejemplo, en una persona a quien quieres. Pensad cada uno en esa persona durante un minuto. Ni siquiera, durante medio minuto. Fijбos cуmo en tanto intentбis pensar en ella, se os cruzan en la mente cientos de otros pensamientos "accidentales"...como "quien es este sujeto que estб hablando", "quй tengo que hacer mбs tarde", y varias cosas mбs (por no mencionar que cuando dije "Pensad en cualquier cosa", casi nadie pudo visualizar un pensamiento de forma inmediata!). Cuando mi amigo pensу con tanta fuerza que por el amor de dios la policнa no lo detuviera, lo que hizo fue proyectar dos imбgenes: Una era "Policнa", la otra "Detener". La mente infinita (їquй es esto? їExiste tal cosa?) sуlo sintoniza esta frecuencia. No le importa que le agregues la palabra sн o la palabra no...solamente capta las imбgenes que mantienes en la mente con intensidad. Es por esto que en general muchos de nuestros deseos no se cumplen: Porque los pensamos del modo en que reciйn pensamos en la persona a quien queremos: Interrumpidamente, con una seсal sucia, poco clara. Entonces aclaremos esto: El receptor (Ўy aquн no vamos a hablar de Dios, por favor!) tiene como mнnimo dos condiciones:
La primera es que RECIBE ъnicamente pensamiento claro, continuo, nнtido.
La segunda es que no toma en cuenta vicisitudes semбnticas de la imagen, sino que sуlo recibe la imagen tal como es visualizada.

Mбs Cuestiones y Dificultades (si no hubiese tantas, este seminario no serнa necesario, їverdad?)

En la tradiciуn judeo-cristiana, Dios creу el mundo no con las manos, ni con dinero, ni con una marcha en la plaza ?, sino con la palabra. La palabra en realidad no representa mбs que una funciуn comunicativa del pensamiento. El fondo del asunto es que Dios creу el mundo con el pensamiento. Esta nociуn no es rara entre la mayorнa de los otros pueblos de la humanidad.

Otra cosa que deseo transmitir: Todo lo que estб vinculado con lo positivo (incluyendo, por ejemplo, ser Seropositivo - mira hasta dуnde se extienden las cosas en el lenguaje!-) estб hoy estereotipado como algo entre poco cursi y poco realista. El cinismo de nuestros tiempos ha hecho que la idea de pensamiento positivo fuera a parar en el imaginario cultural junto con un fantasma o el juego de la copa, їno es asн?

Volviendo a dios, y aunque a esta altura sea casi una obviedad, voy a seсalar que no es casualidad que estй escrito que fuimos creados a su imagen y semejanza....que estamos diseсados para crear y materializar con la sencilla ayuda del pensamiento...el quid de esta cuestiуn yace en que por lo general somos incapaces de decir algo tan directo y concreto como "deseo LUZ", pensamos "bueno, este, es decir....yo quisiera, si es que puedo pedir, їno? tal vez algo que me traiga йxito con las chicas...o poder quedarme en mi casa en lugar de salir a trabajar a la maсana"...Fijaos la diferencia: LUZ. Cuando reina la oscuridad, y aparece el pensamiento "Haya LUZ", el nivel vibratorio de la idea es tan alto, que es prбcticamente imposible que sea desoнdo.

їEl Coaching de la Atracciуn es simplemente lograr limpiar el pensamiento de "accidentes" y poder meditar? En realidad esto un principio, porque al meditar no estamos necesariamente visualizando algo y tampoco le hemos adjuntado la INTENCION de que la visualizaciуn se materialice. Son, entonces, tres niveles diferentes de acciуn y pensamiento: El primero, poder despejar la mente, y no permitir que las ideas se paseen libremente por ella. Lo segundo, es mantener en la conciencia una idea clara, irreductible, visual y luminosa, de lo que queremos ver hecho realidad. Cualquier cosa. Lo tercero es la intenciуn, que en realidad ya desde un principio acompaсa a los dos anteriores. Luego de esto, resta comprender que la contemplaciуn de esa idea no se desvanece cuando la quitamos del foco de la conciencia, sino que tiende a aferrarse al transcurrir inconciente en tanto mбs la retenemos. Es decir, mбs la piensas, mбs se queda haciendo eco. El pensamiento subconsciente es el que estб en realidad mбs intensamente conectado al fin de cuentas con lo universal...como todos vosotros - o por lo menos quienes han estudiado psicologнa sabйis - la mente inconciente es mente tйcnicamente hablando, mientras que lo que concebimos como el YO o el foco de conciencia no serнa mбs que una mнnima porciуn de esa mente que sucumbiу a la evoluciуn…la conciencia es poco mбs que una ilusiуn, pero tiene la carta ganadora: La intenciуn es exclusivamente suya.

Definiendo el Йxito – Pidiendo el Йxito
En este seminario dijimos que нbamos a hablar del йxito. La palabra йxito esta en el nombre del seminario, seguramente muchos de vosotros se acercaron porque les atrajo esa palabra...
Pero, їquй es el йxito? їAlguien puede definir quй es el йxito para йl o ella? Si, tъ, por favor..... " el йxito es la realizaciуn de los sueсos", "el йxito es conseguir la independencia".Bien, estas ideas a mi son en verdad directas, al parecer vosotros dos sabйis lo que deseбis. Sin embargo, si tuviera que dar un porcentaje de posibilidad de que vuestro йxito se materialice a partir de vuestras definiciones (que es como vosotros VISUALIZAIS ese йxito) debo decir que esa posibilidad es bastante baja... expresar que tener йxito es la independencia es bonito, pero la independencia es un concepto, y esta en principio compuesto por una serie de pensamientos...lo mismo ocurre con los sueсos...todos sabemos lo que son los sueсos, pero sigue siendo una nociуn algo intangible... quiero contarles un caso que le oн decir hace poco en una conferencia a Malcolm Gladwell, que escribiу "The Tipping Point"...Malcolm nos contу sobre un tal Howard Moscowitz, que segъn el es el reinventor en Norteamйrica de la salsa de tomate. Veamos: la empresa Campbellґs contratу al tal Moscowitz para dar con la mejor salsa de tomate posible...esto fue alrededor de los aсos cincuenta...Moscowitz hizo una serie de pruebas y de Focus Groups (un tйrmino inventado por el gran inventor de tйrminos Robert K. Merton, quien a su vez hizo una de las contribuciones mбs importantes al concepto de la Ley de Atracciуn, ya lo veremos en un momento; quedaos con el nombre, Robert K Merton).Y en los Focus Groups consultу a varias centenas de personas sobre cуmo serнa su salsa de tomate ideal...la gente le daba respuestas tales como "Ummm...yo dirнa que con muchos vegetales, pero cortados pequeсos" , "a ver....sabrosa, bien sabrosa y espesa, aunque sin perder el sabor a tomate" o "no tan lнquida, aunque un poco sн, y con muchas verduras y otras especias", y muchнsimas mбs respuestas del estilo...Moskowitz pensу muchнsimo, y no lograba dar con la fуrmula que Campbell's le habнa encargado...finalmente tuvo un instante de genialidad, de iluminaciуn....e inventу la hoy hiper popular salsa "Extra Chunky", algo asн como Extra Gruesa. En espaсol esta anйctoda deja algo de riqueza semбntica en el camino, pero los que hablan inglйs aquн, me imagino que casi todos, comprenderбn que el nombre "Extra Chunky" expresa con mucho poder de sнntesis lo que toda la gente de un modo u otro le decнa en las entrevistas y los Focus Groups. Moskowitz empezу entonces a inventar muchos de los productos mбs populares en el mercado de los Estados Unidos, y como es obvio, alguien le preguntу en cierto punto dуnde residнa su genio: El hombre fue muy directo "Consigo decir lo que la gente no consigue poner en palabras. Porque lo cierto es que la gente NO SABE DECIR LO QUE QUIERE"...tiene una idea vaga, en el mejor de los casos una buena idea, pero no puede TRANSMITIRLA con claridad. Yo Encuentro la IMAGEN y la PALABRA que yace detrбs de lo que me dicen que les gustarнa."
No sй si es preciso decirlo, pero esto es 100 por ciento aplicable a lo que venнamos hablando: El problema de la gente no es que no desea con la suficiente pasiуn, sino que tiene dificultad para transmitir con absoluta claridad lo que quiere, y por ello es que no tiene interlocutor en la realidad.

Sucede Lo que Se Espera que Suceda

Ahora sн, os voy a comentar finalmente sobre Robert Merton y por quй el Seminario del Exito que brindarй pronto es tan especial. Personalmente, creo que se tratу de un hito, aunque en el бmbito cientнfico no fue revolucionario ni mucho menos...y esto se refleja en que transcurriу muchнsimo tiempo hasta que alguien considerara a este fenуmeno como algo digno de dedicarle un tratamiento...fijбos quй increнble: Un sujeto demuestra cientнficamente que los pensamientos de las personas se convierten en su realidad, y nadie toma la posta y se encarga de desarrollar un "antнdoto"...es cierto que sн han habido toneladas de corrientes de pensamiento positivo, pero nada destacale que haya provenido desde el бmbito de la ciencia. Mi seminario del йxito, que en algunos dнas voy a presentar por primera vez en Espaсa, es la respuesta a ese vacнo. No es que quiera desalentaros, pero fijбos si esta noche cuando estбis en la tina logrбis concrentraros como es debido para poner en marcha la fuerza de la atracciуn.
